Description
Versatile, long-lasting and responsibly made: that’s our new Bananatex® Flap Tote. Created from our 100% naturally grown banana fiber fabric with a waterproof natural wax coating, the Flap Tote features a generous flap closure and our signature functionality for everyday use, in any weather. The Simple Strap System allows backpack as well as tote carry options. A key hook, several pockets and a YKK-zipped side entry let you access your daily essentials when you need them. The interior is lined with GOTS-certified 100% organic cotton and a lightweight protective compartment made from natural wool felt keeps devices safe. The design integrates circularity from the get-go: at the end of its life the hardware can be removed and recycled, while the bio-degradable Bananatex® material (and all other parts) leave no waste behind.

Bananatex
Bananatex® is the world’s first durable, waterproof fabric made purely from Banana plants. Cultivated in the Philippines within a natural ecosystem of sustainable forestry, the plant requires no chemical treatments.
Its self-sufficiency has made it an important contributor to reforestation of areas once eroded by Palm plantations, whilst enhancing the prosperity of local farmers.
Behind the development of Bananatex is a collaboration of Swiss bag brand QWSTION, a Taiwanese yarn specialist and QWSTION’s weaving partner based in Taipei, Taiwan.
