Description

Transform your home into a nature-inspired haven with this Night Garden luxury woven cotton blanket. Celebrating back garden biodiversity, you’ll discover moths for every month of the year, paired with the plants that hungry caterpillars feed upon. With art imitating nature, the blanket is filled from ground to tree level, with plants climbing up the edges untethered and coming alive with an abundance of nightlife.

The base of this large blanket is a deep french blue, with the design incorporating many colours. Large enough to spread horizontally across the main body of a queen or king sized bed (excluding the pillows), or drape over your sofa, this is a delicate decorative piece.

Connect to nature with this nocturnal narrative.

Every blanket comes with a printed Nature Connection Guide, that tells you more about the species featured.

Supporting species: 2% of all sales will go to the Butterfly Conservation charity via Arcana and when you order through us at Ateliers Verts, we will add a further 2%

WHAT IT’S MADE FROM

The blankets are woven from 75% recycled cotton, 20% spun cotton and 5% polyester that is required in the recycled cotton portion to retain its strength.

All the colours you see are woven from just six colours of threads, which can be seen in the 1.5 inch fringing on the edge. Two edges show the colours, two show black and white threads.

Each soft tapestry blanket contains over 8 miles of yarn. Because the blankets are woven, every one is reversible, showing different colours on the back.

From cosying up with a book to lying on the beach, you can use your blanket everywhere at any time of year, as the lightweight nature of the fabric allows amazing versatility.

Natural and woven fabrics and beautiful and unlike anything else. Due to their nature some minor imperfections may be present but we think this only adds to their charm.

The blankets are woven with love by a small family business in North Carolina, USA

Size: This blanket is the largest size, which is approximately 213cm x 157cm (84”x62”).

Care: You can hand wash or machine wash the blanket in cold water on a delicate cycle using a mild detergent, so you don’t need to worry about loving it and taking it everywhere. Do not bleach. Line dry or machine dry on cool cycle only.

Our Vision

A world where butterflies and moths thrive and can be enjoyed by everyone, forever.

Our Mission

Butterflies and moths are a vital part of our wildlife heritage and are valuable as sensitive indicators of the health of our environment. The stark fact is that butterflies and moths continue to decline at an alarming rate, despite Butterfly Conservation's best efforts over the last 40 years. Our data shows they are both declining faster than most other well-documented groups of plants and animals, so our task is both daunting and complex. For many species, we know what needs to be done to halt the decline and support recoveries. In order to tackle these losses and achieve the aims of the charity, we have to dramatically increase our capacity and influence over the next few years. Our work will benefit other wildlife and the ecosystems upon which all life depends.

Falling numbers are an early warning to all wildlife that cannot be ignored. We have more than 40,000 members in the UK and 32 volunteer-run Branches throughout the British Isles.  We employ over 80 people, including many highly qualified scientists, making us the world's largest research institute for butterflies and moths. We operate 36 nature reserves and we are leading or involved in 73 landscape-scale projects to conserve habitats.
