The Provenance
Hyrst Sycamore Food Board #2
Wide and delicately grained, sycamore board #2 is hewn from a single piece of responsibly sourced British timber.
Each food board is handcrafted in the workshop at HMP Warren Hill, just down the road from the Hyrst studio in Suffolk. Income paid by Hyrst to Warren Hill is used to fund training qualifications that will reskill residents in preparation for their release.
Sycamore board #2 can be used for cutting and dicing or served at the table as a beautiful mezze board. The hole will fit a hook for hanging, or a thumb for holding and the size is roughly 460x230mm and the thickness between 18mm and 25mm
Every Hyrst board is unique. Whilst the grain of sycamore remains relatively constant (with subtle but beautiful swirls and waves), the colour can vary from almost white to soft brown. Please do get in touch with any preferences on colour when ordering.
In common, all of our boards are solid, single-piece, beautiful and generally life-affirming (in our slightly biased opinion).
