We spent the whole of last week at various events for London Climate Action Week đź’š
It’s a critical week for us in so much as the Ateliers Verts department store was founded in 2019 on the basis that we need to do what we can for the Climate & Environmental Crises. So without seeing the work being done at first hand by Companies, NGOs and Government we’d just be paying lip-service rather than taking genuine interest and desire to do good things.
The week started with Sunday's incredible sunset followed by a record-heatwave -It’s so ironic that extreme heat fell on LCAW! Dashing around London all week wasn’t much fun on public transport. The correlation between heat and the climate emergency couldn’t have been more apt.
Some highlights:
Reset Connect at Excel – The exhibition element was bigger than ever with multiple exhibitors like Fauna & Flora, The Wildlife Trusts, Treeapp, UN Global Compact Network UK, Ogyre, Magical Mushroom.
Two notable seminar sessions were
On the Net Zero Business Stage -How Businesses are Driving Decarbonisation and Real-World Sustainable Growth, moderated by Business Green and featuring Ecologi | B Corp™ , BSI& HP. Engaging discussions on how it’s actually not all about achieving net zero! And on the Nature-Based solutions stage, Resilience Inbuilt – the Investment case for protecting built infrastructure with nature-based solutions with Green Finance Institute, Athena Blue and National Biodiversity Network Trust- a fascinating discussion on how for example how building marshland areas can protect towns from flooding saving £millions in flood clean-up costs each year.
Brand Finance in The City- an in depth look at Sustainability in an Era of Greenhushing- with Brand Finance, Pinterest, Ad Net Zero and ISBA. It’s amazing how some companies like Aramco can be perceived as being a model of sustainability in Saudi Arabia. Sustainability continues to be a contentious theme for brands to manage in 2026.

Blue Earth Forum in Shoreditch, brought together founders, investors business leaders, creatives & policymakers shaping what’s next. Hearing how HSBC is backing BCorp-certified businesses like Candy Kittens, Cook, Denbigh Wines and Wolf & Badger. Seeing a mushroom bar and seaweed gel wrapped drinks was inspirational.
The last day of LCAW was at Somerset House for a super-incisive and very relevant seminar hosted by GlobeScan and Forest Stewardship Council “Helping Consumers Make Better Purchase Decisions, and how organisations can turn concern into action”. With Marine Stewardship Council (MSC), Amazon Brazilian paper company Suzano . The good work that FSC and MSC are doing and how consumers engage with their respective logos was incredible. Amazon’s Climate Friendly Pledge initiative is encouraging.
Post- LCAW we now have to focus even harder and do the hard work on curating even more eco-conscious products for our customers. After all time is running out if we want to reverse climate change.
