SEA BEYOND is a project by the Prada Group, carried out in partnership with the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO (UNESCO-IOC) since 2019. Its aim is to raise awareness about ocean preservation and sustainability by promoting ocean education on a global scale through a wide range of educational initiatives targeted at young people.
Since its launch, the educational program has shared the principles of ocean literacy with over 35,000 students worldwide.
In 2023, the project introduced “Asilo della Laguna,” an outdoor educational program for children in Venice, designed to foster a connection between young generations and the lagoon ecosystem.
While continuing to place education at its core, SEA BEYOND has recently expanded its scope to include support for scientific research, community-based projects in the areas where it operates, and actions aimed at promoting marine conservation among institutions and international bodies. As of July 2023, 1% of the proceeds from the Prada Re-Nylon for SEA BEYOND Collection benefit the SEA BEYOND initiative.
