Grown, matured & handcrafted in Naturalmat's home county of Devon.
Provenance and making locally have always been at the heart of Naturalmat. When they say ‘Made by hand in Devon’, we truly mean it. The newest addition to our collection of handmade beds – The Devon Oak Bed – couldn’t fit more perfectly into this mould.
The timber for the Devon Oak Bed comes from managed woodland on the banks of the River Tamar. On maturity, it is felled, planked and left to air dry naturally for 22 months just outside of South Molton (with our partners at UK Hardwoods). It is then crafted into its contemporary form by Bob at his workshop in Perridge.
The beauty of the grain running through the oak immediately catches the eye, whilst gentle radius corners round off the sleek, contemporary frame. Blending form with function, a slatted base provides the spring & ventilation every bed needs for a comfortable night’s sleep.
